Our Denomination
Sanger Community Church belongs to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a denomination that is Reformational in doctrine, Presbyterian in government, and Evangelical in spirit. The motto of the EPC is taken from the words of Augustine: "In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity."  Click here for answers to frequently asked questions.

Some of Our Distinctives

What are our views on some of the significant and controversial issues of our day?  These links will help you get a picture of where we are coming from and how we live our Christian faith in our day.  Before being adopted these Position Papers were carefully written and circulated among the churches.  Then they had to be approved at two meetings of the entire church with a minimum of one year in between.  They speak clearly for the entire denomination and will show you where our heart is on these matters.

Pastoral Letters

A pastoral letter is intended to shine the light of God's word broadly on a general area of concern to the Church. It is not as definitive as a Position Paper, which requires the approval of the majority of the denomination.  The primary purpose of a pastoral letter is to guide churches rather than to identify our positions to the world.  Topics include (click here for a full list):Care of those afflicted by AIDS/HIVUse of CatechismsChildren and the Lord’s SupperCivil DisobedienceDomestic AbuseOpen TheismOrgan Donation and TransplantationReceiving and Adopting the Westminster StandardsSecret Fraternal Organizations
